A new Designated Visitor FYI flag will be available on Maestro Care starting 6/24/2020 to support the new visitor policy of allowing one designated visitor per inpatient. The flag can be added by inpatient nurses, case managers, inpatient and ED Financial Care Counselors and operations administrators. COVID-19 vaccines for homebound patients residing in Durham County are now available through a partnership between the Durham County Community Paramedics and the Durham County Health Department. This initiative serves to identify patients who are unable to safely access the COVID-19 vaccine outside of their home due to health or mobility, and provide the vaccine to patients in their home. Referrals for Duke patients can be e-mailed to Elissa Nickolopoulos, MSW, LCSW-A at elissa.rumer@duke.edu.  All referrals must contain patient's name, MRN, preferred phone number, allergies, preferred phone number and alternative contacts (if applicable). Documentation of patient's verbal consent for referral to Community Paramedics must be documented in patient's chart prior to making the referral. New Password Policy for Duke Health Team Members

Duke Health users and sponsored guests must update passwords as soon as possible, but will not be required to change passwords in the future – unless you want to update or your password is compromised. The new password policy removes the requirement to update passwords every 180 days and requires passwords to be at least 12 characters (special characters and numbers are no longer required); however, including special characters creates a stronger password. Maestro Care: Using the COVID Vaccine Waitlist

The wait list feature is used to keep track of patients who need an appointment. This Maestro Care tip sheet provides instructions for adding patients to the waitlist who qualify for a COVID vaccine, but who we are unable to schedule. Do not add patients to the wait list if they do not meet the current qualifications to receive the vaccine. The WL-COVID VACCINE(HOTLINE) [9070624] waitlist should only be used for initial vaccine appointments, not for second dose appointments. Uploaded 2.26.21
