Inpatient Visitor Restriction Update in English – Overnight Visitor

We realize that loved ones are a vital part of a patient’s care team and play an important role in recovery. As we have navigated each phase of the COVID-19 pandemic over the last year, the safety of our patients, visitors and team members has been our highest priority. Given the decreased community spread of COVID-19 and increased vaccination rates, we will modify our inpatient visitor restrictions to permit for one overnight visitor. This patient letter explains this update in English. Uploaded 06.14.21

Guidelines for Visitation Restrictions

This document is for internal Duke Health use only. Please note these restrictions are subject to change as needed. The ultimate decision to move between Tiers will be made by DUHS Leadership and communicated through typical employee communication channels. Additional factors including evidence of hospital-acquired transmission of respiratory viruses or hospital capacity shortages related to respiratory viral illnesses may be used to determine the phase of visitations, as determined by DUHS Emergency Preparedness, Influenza Task Force, Infectious Diseases, and Operational Leaders.
